As seen on Starcade, Stern's Journey was something of a Sinistar / Time Pilot / Bosconian type of game. Turns out it was an unreleased VidKidz game. According to Larry DeMar, the name changed because of the Bally Journey game, and then ultimately didn't move forward because of the similarity to Sinistar. See Dan Boris' page here: http://www.atarihq.com/danb/VidKidz.shtml, maybe Dan will be able to recover the code someday.

Very cool, always wondered about that! Interesting that Stern wound up with the license, though it makes sense as they were local to Williams and Vid Kidz.

I've always been curious about that incomplete Haunted House/Movie Monster game they showed graph paper sprites of on PS1 William's Arcade Greatest hits V1.

Marcelo Hassmer won a Stern Journey on Starcade. Maybe he still has it...

Conquest shows up on the Tago flyer (with Anteater and Calipso)

That makes sense since Anteater was developed at Stern (by Chris Oberth) and licensed to Tago. Did Larry DeMar say how Conquest ended up at Stern?

Tago showed all three games (Anteater, Calipso, and Conquest) at the 1982 AMOA show and supposedly got a good response, but I don't know if they released all three or how many they sold.

I was able to track down Marcelo Hassmer and contacted him regarding the Stern Journey.

His reply:

"I got rid of it many years ago. I have no idea where it is. Sorry."

Nice detective work! Pity it didn't turn up, the same thing happened with a Bouncer, it went to "someone" at a yardsale and hasn't been seen since. :(
