Hello folks,
I was wondering if anyone may be able help me out with my Galaxy? Basically, I can only hear sound if I have the volume cranked between the 8-10 range. Also, I should mention, at that volume, the sound is really grainy. This may be because the speaker can't take that high of a volume level. When I turn the machine on I get a pretty substantial hum and no start up tones.

I replaced the volume pot and capped the sound board, which is a SB-300. I confirmed the voltages on the sound board to be correct and swapped out the speaker temporally. None of these things helped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Derek

Thanks for getting back Playpin... I've been using that guide thus far but with no scope I'm at a standstill. Maybe its time to send it to a pro....

Have you tried changing the amplifier? Also the ribbon cable from the mpu to the sound board can cause problems. I put in a harness from twobits.com in my Freefall to replace the ribbon cable.

Yup, I tested the ribbon cable for continuity. Both tested okay. Please excuse my ignorance though, but where can I find the amp? Guess I'll have to browse that guide again because I must have missed it. If Imember correctly I think they just assume you know where it is . Not too newbie friendly. I'll look again though, just in case I missed it .

Thanks
