Stern coin door stickers ?

I had two Berzerk machines, serial # 250 had a Stern sticker that had "Chicago, Illinois" on it. My 10,XXX serial number Berzerk just had a Stern sticker without the Chicago Illinois part, so there are at least 2 different versions.

Dropped you a mail Rich, but here is the one on my (our) machine(s):

Our serial nrs. are in the 2000-3000 range.

ok, news from the "european berzerk front" ;)

i was the first to install the replacement coin door sticker from BIG DADDY (the one that level42 has pictured above) and what can i say: IT'S HORRIBLE!!!

check out the attached picture: the two colors (red and blue) are extremely transparent, that's why you almost can't read anything at all.

am i doing something wrong here or is this sticker simply not made for a black coin door? does anyone know where i can get a better sticker? what about the other version that phoenixarcade sells? does that work on black coin doors?

Considering that site is all about pinball stuff, I'd guess it was never meant to be applied to anything but a stainless door. Get the other one that's available, it isn't transparent.

The original looks transparent to me. Else you wouldn't see all those rust-bubbles.

Here's a pic that the seller sent me. This is clearly not a stainless door. Although this one is grey, I see no reason why it would look (much) worse on a black door. If it would, the original would have looked similar.

The contrast will of course be lower on a black door, but it shouldn't be as bad as it looks on Ully's.

My copies of the decal are in storage with my Berzerk machine, I'll see if I can pick them up this weekend and have a look....
Maybe it's just a mis-print....

Also the other one that is available is the wrong kind (at least we had _this_ kind of decal on the coin-door). Plus if it IS a bad printing I want things settled, we paid good money for it.

Really? Hmmm. Did you email the seller and ask his opinion?

i did, here's his answer:

Well, yes that's the problem, black. All of the Stern pinball games to my knowledge have a grey door. What game re you applying this to?

then i told him it's for an berzerk arcade game and here's what he said then:

Don't know what to say, I don't make these I buy them from Classic Arcades, but I'm purely a pinball shop and all the Stern pinball doors are grey. Obviously send back the unused ones and I'll refund.

perhaps level42 should check his sticker and if he has the same issues with it, i'm going for the other version. we're talking about the one that phoenixarcade is selling, right?

isn't that also a version which is also transparent once you remove the white backing? or are the red and the blue simply non-transparent?

My Frenzy has thisoldgame.com coin sticker. I had kind of a "opps" when applying it and the adhesive kind of got milky looking. However, after a day it looked better than then (See below). I asked Rich why he didn't do them on "BLACK" vinyl and he said that is how he originally did them and everyone complained. However, IMO these should be "BLACK" vinyl even if they aren't 'originally' black.

I just masked off my original and painted around it. Looks pretty damned good. I knew I'd never get a repro clear sticker to look right over that textured metal, so I decided against buying one. My original was in great shape, so I opted to leave it on

If I was a sign-guy, I'd make simple peel-stick stencils for this logo and sell those. Then I'd recommend my customers clear coat it. It would look fantastic that way and be more permanent!!!

Well I JUST got back from the storage to pick up the rest of the decals and have a look.

The issue is VERY clear: the inks are transparent ! They are VERY light indeed. I think it's safe to call it a misprint, or if not, the print quality (inks) is simply too low.

The problem is NOT that the background/material is transparent, its' supposed to be like that (and I prefer mine to be like that too). The inks are just shining through like hell.

I very much doubt that the actual decals I have here will look good on a grey door either.

Anyway, I'm a bit sad to see that Ully totally passed me by because _I_ found and ordered these decals and _I_ said I would handle the issue, but I didn't get a couple of days from Ully to handle this.

Really very sad.

Anyone know where I can get a coin door sticker like this for my Scramble resto?
