Stern and cocktail pinball machines?

I have never played a coctail pin, but I would like to try one out though.

Are these fun? I see them on my local CL from time to time, and they do not appear to sell well.

Ever since I saw video of Night Moves Ive wanted it. Necer thought there would ever be a more modern one....still dont but sure would love to see one built with ramps and locks and stuff.

Something more modern might be cool but I don't see it being successful in today's market. Of course, what do I know :p

I can say that the original cocktail style pinball tables made by Game Plan were complete garbage. I've turned them down for free.

this is interesting.

I like that they are at least allowed to 'think outside the box' as it were.

would be fun. I think maybe the only way to get pins/games back in bars would be to have them as tables!!

I've actually always thought that having pong tables back would be fun. I know I'd throw at least a couple quarters in if I were sitting at one!

Don't forget about those beauties Allied Leisure made.....and I agree, total garbage. You'd have to pay ME to take one away.

I wouldn't mind having a "Caribbean Cruise", or "Night Moves" (in that order) - can't say I'm a fan of the older Allied stuff though.

I will say that my "Lucky Draw" does get attention when I have company over, and I think it's an interesting idea about cocktail pinballs perhaps making inroads into spaces where they've not been in a while. Smaller table, less complex, easier maintenance - and you have them double as a table for your clients to eat/drink at.

If they were priced appropriately, and of a good design, why not! Wouldn't have to have a DMD, could still have a playfield toy, some good sound, and a good light show...

I've yet to see a head-to-head pinball that's worth playing. Joust is collectible I suppose, but as a pinball I consider it a failure - there's a reason there aren't many out there :p

I had a Fascination, Inc. "Eros One" cocktail pin and I thought it was quite fun. The bad part is that the old Allied/Fascination machines were built terribly. That's why you can find a 30+ year old cocktail pin that's near new. The machine broke down a lot and operators got sick of them, so they just stashed them away.

If parts were more readily available to fix them, I'd probably buy another one. But, since parts for the old ones are difficult as sin to locate, I'll skip it. It's no fun having a cool pin but no parts to fix it.
