As some of you know, i have moved my shop to a new location closer to my home. It has been a long process getting everything out of storage units and my main shop. I finished doing the last paint jobs at the old shop on thursday. NOw that I am in the new shop, it will be a few weeks before I am back to running full bore again, so to the people I owe things to, thanks for being really really really patient for a long summer season. WIZ I swear I will get that HV cage tested and back to you first thing!! Anyway, figured I would post a pic or two of the last paint jobs from this old shop.

Nice stencil jobs:)

What paint do you use for the silver on the robotron? Gamestencils recommends a valspar metallic buts it's a latex I believe. I'd like to use a lacquer.

Malice, this is all automotive base coat cleared over with very thin coat of water based polycrylic. The silver is one of the GM line metallics that has a small metal flake in it. Not to steer you away from trying Lacquer, but the dry time makes it very hard to spray while stenciling, much like latex, it has a tendency to run a lot, and sometimes lifts the stencils and makes a huge mess. The original cabs were done in lacquers for the most part, but the stenciling process was much different, and they were doing thousands of pieces. If you do try lacquer, spend the money, do not get the stuff from auto zone and try to spot match colors with it. I have been down that road already, and it gives less than favorable results in my opinion. Good luck, hope that helps!
