I am going to go check out a Stellar Wars machine tonight.
Lady is asking around $100. She says her family has owned it 20 years but it no longer works or gets used. There is visible pf wear in spots I can see from pic, glass seems ok. I was wondering what to look for. The battery/board damage is my biggest concern seeing they had it 20 years. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks

This is a ridiculous question...stop reading this post and go check it out! You can't lose for $100 if you have the space and ability to get it working again.

I havent done board work and I was wondering if the battery damage is fixable to a degree. Hey, maybe it wont have it but I am new to all this and was hoping for advice on what to look for on a machine that has been sitting a long time. Dont want to really throw 2-300 into boards right away is all....

Also is it a decent game? My son (10) is a big pinball nut but says widebodys are slow and boring! Thoughts?

This was the main pinball machine I played as a kid was one of the better ones that made it to my small town (that's saying something) I would love to find one of these in Canada for starters. My last trip to Minnesota I did in 2.5 days dont want to ever do that again. I was so tired afterwards.

Well i passed it up, it was a dog and hadnt been played in 20 years when they bought it(they never once did play it as it had the messenger ball in the trough, rusty I might add) Had board battery damage, pf was a mess, heavily routed, lifted the PF and could see the floor out a corner as it was so warped from being in the basement. Could barely get the pf glass out due to warp. Just too much for me at the moment. Too bad....could have been a great deal. Thanks for the info all.
