My friend gave me 3 boards to try in my Stargate to determine which one of his was bad.
2 out of 3 where good, but his power supply looks different than mine. So I could not test his power supply.

I looked at my Defender and it is the same power supply as my Stargate.
So what is up with his power supply??

Different versions?
Thanks.

It should look like this:

Nothing will happen if you don't have the heat sink assembly.

So, question...
Do you have the pinout on the power supply in the picture?
Maybe you have the manual to the pic you supplied of the power supply.
I know the output, but not the input from bottom cabinet transformer.

There are a different number of pins on the input from cabinent tranformer on the two different power supply revisions.

Manuals for most Williams games can be found at arcarc.xmission.com.

The easiest way to tell the difference is the power connector from the transformer it has 15 pins on a Joust and later power supplies (unless it is a cocktail unit which have 12) and 12 pins on a Defender, early Stargate, early Moon Patrol and most MakeTrax games.
