This damn game. It worked fine last time I turned it on. Now all I get is this. I'm trying to sell it and some guy wants 100 bucks less than I'm asking because of this. The first pic is when I turn it on. The second pic is after a few seconds. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. This game is almost mint. No commercial use, no screen burn, so I assume it's a pretty easy fix. But I don't know crap, really.

I should also add that I am a dumbass amateur. I know very little. Even a vague suggestion, such as a bad eprom, bad cap, etc., would help.

Did you move it since it last worked? What happens when you turn the game on? Can you coin it up and play or hear anything?

First screen looks like the normal rug pattern. If the game plays, you might just need to readjust the monitor pots.

It hasn't moved in 2 years. I can hit the diagnostic button on the inside and it'll make all kind of crazy noises, but poppin a quarter in does not start the game. Thanks for your reply.

Doesn't look like there's anything wrong with the monitor.

Try reseating the RAM chips. There are 24 of them on the main PCB.

With the power off, carefully slip a flat-bladed screwdriver between each chip and its socket, and gently lever the chip out of its socket. Then, put the chip back into the socket, being careful not to bend any of the pins the wrong way. Once you've done one or two of them, you'll get the hang of it.

(And if that doesn't work, try the same thing with the larger ROM chips on the ROM board.)

The monitor is NOT your problem.

Looks like either a RAM issue or a power supply issue, neither of which warrant a $100 discount to the buyer IMO.

Well, it MIGHT be a horizontal hold issue. That rug pattern could be repeated in a roll pattern and not look too bad in a snapshot pic. The last pic looks like horizontal is off during gameplay.

Open up the back and check the LED indicator on the ROM board. If it says 0, then I'd check the horizontal hold on the monitor. if it's flashing a set of numbers, write them down and report back....
