Anyone else here master Stargate?

Challenge for 'ya: Post your 1 ship high score, factory settings. Simple rules, play until your first ship dies, let the remaining ships die, post the score. Can you place a #1 high score on a factory settings cab with 1 ship? Repeat as needed.

Finally got my upright Stargate stabilized and ready.

You are gonna have to post some films of your incredible Stargate skilz! I haven't seen a Stargate master in action since the 80's! Your one ship score beats my best 3 ship score!

Don't warp until at least level 3, and then only to avoid level 5.

That's assuming I can do good enough to grab 4 humanoids without dying on level 3! ;)

(to be honest, I don't have any way to practice on it. Only machine I've played in recent years was at Funspot...My MAME button layout just doesn't work well for Stargate)

Yea, you just cannot play Stargate on any other CP layout than original. Even the cocktail sucks.

I will throw down on some Stargate this afternoon. I have a feeling my one ship score will not break 10,000; Stargate is an ass kicker.

Use the inviso [sparingly] as a weapon, practice reverse, especially rapid double reverse, collect men, kill yllabians and dynamos early, never shoot a lander [unless it has a humanoid], Smart bomb the pod intersection, figure out why warp is a bad idea [except to avoid wave 5 & maybe 10].
A given later 'wave' is either a 'points grubbing wave' or a survival wave. A points grubbing wave has 5 or more humanoids to start, here you pick up and group the humanoids, clear the play field without killing landers and then fish for points when the landers come to pick up the humanoids you have grouped all together. A survival wave is just that: pick up 1 humanoid and fight like hell.

1 ship, no warp, factory settings= 22,525
This challenge made me play a bit different than usual but the game actually went pretty well after that first ship. I still want to see some video of saltbreez playing Stargate!

Thanks for the tips. I will try and incorporate them into my game.

Well played. The video I wish I could put forth would have been of me putting the high score on the Stargate at the Seattle NW pinball show, ... with the handicap of my son sleeping on my shoulder.
