Hi, All hoping someone can help with this fault. The game plays but with bad vector faults, no text is readable apart form the large STARWARS at the begining but this is barely readable. If i start it in test mode i get 16 high beeps suguesting all is good, but none of the screen is readable. The test screen with square and diamonds, the square looks correct but the diamond are over extended. I have added pictures to show. I have carried out some testing on the avg board, changed the DACs and the AVG chip but still the same. It almost looks like a divisiion or counting fault, but just not sure. Hoping someone can point me in the right area.
Many Thanks Richard

Possibly a bad X DAC, or X-axis data shifter. Best to send it out if you aren't set up to do board repair. User @lilypad19 repairs these.
Hey thanks for the reply. I have gone through the data shifters for the X vector and all seems good. I have changed the DAC08s, I can't test the am6012 but have ordered 1 to try. If there is anything else you think it could be, please let me know. Thank you again.

How are you testing the data shifters?

If it's a DAC, it'll be the 6012 for the x-axis. The 08 is used for scaling. That won't be it.
To test the data shifters im using a dit24xp in/out circuit analyzer its not 100 percent but I find its good most of the time for me. I will wait for the 6012 to come.
Many Thanks again

I could not find a good supplier for a 6012 so i ordered a DAC312HPZ which seems to be a direct replacement.
