Hey all,
I have a Star Wars upright that's been sitting unused for about 6 years. I had this in a previous home, and it was fully operational with a Clay ESB mod kit installed. It survived the move with no incidents, however hadn't been turned on since. I recently plugged it back in, and while it does power up, the vectors are kind of screwy. I ran the self test, and it's giving me an error on "VG RAM2 AT 3P". At first, I thought this was going to be an easy fix. Before I ordered a replacement RAM chip, I decided to confirm the RAM was the issue by swapping it with another chip on the board. After trying the chip in two additional spots, I'm perplexed as it still gives the same error. This leads me to believe it's an issue with the socket or the traces?
Before I pull the board and pursue those possibilities, I thought I'd post the question here to see if it's possibly something else.
The board looks relatively clean, with no corrosion and no obvious overheating spots or scratches.
I'd appreciate any ideas you all might have.
Thanks!
