Star Wars Upright "Shroud" Graphics

That's odd

Mine has a black cardboard bezel (25" screen by the way)

(IE it has no stripes)

Anyone else have black only? :)

My current upright has a black cardboard bezel... no silver stripe. I want to say my last upright or cockpit had the silver stripe... though I can't remember which one it was.

Was it even noticable when playing the game?

Which one is correct, I am guessing the striped one.

The striped version is only in the cockpit and it definitely has some effect, but it's a bit like the Philips Ambilight on their TV's....
It's not essential but you miss it if it's not there anymore once you're used to it ;)
I wouldn't want to miss it on my cockpit...it adds a bit to the 3D feeling...

I have scanned it in the past....but no-one seemed interested.

This is my shroud: (cockpit, to mention again ;) ):

I've noticed the decals on the left and right sides to differ on the various SW machines I have encountered so far (4 cockpits, both US and Irish built, 1 upright, US built)...

More of my shroud here:

Anyone got dimensions of the cardboard monitor thing with the silver stripes?

Yes. I still have the original. Really not an easy thing to give dimensions as they are odd shaped. Traced it and made myself a repro -- see below.

Original had stripes.

Repro masked and ready for silver paint.

Nice,
Kevin would you mind tracing that out(with fold lines)on some plain paper so I can make one?
If you can I'll remind you about it for the next time I see ya at an auction.

Not that it really matters how you make a good looking repro, but looking at my cockpit bezel, it appears that it was made from a sheet of silver/mylar reflective, and the black was screened on top of that!

That said, I'll have to make a replacement, as mine is all warped and rough, and I'll probably make one of of black material, but use adhesive mylar and cut exact stripes to stick on it. Would never be able to tell. Stenciling a sheet of heavy mylar cardboard and painting it seems crazy.

Kevin was kind enough to supply me his original templates....I do have them and was supposed to forward them to don1400 when I was finished....With that said, maybe it is better to scan this stuff and host somewhere for the others that need to make a Star Wars cockpit cardboard bezel?
