I just got my Star Wars up and Hummin yesterday! This has been an ongoing project…bit…by…bit. I purchased this and a Space Duel (with factory installed Amplifone) back in January.

Original pickup thread:

The Star Wars is in great shape with the Amplifone tube still inside. It was missing the power brick, AR board and the Amp HV board. I ended up buying a completely rebuilt HV board from ArcRevival (Sham WOW work). The power brick was bought tested and working with new "Big Blue" and fuse block from komodo. I had a rebuilt AR board lying around. I ended up getting another Amplifone deflection board and rebuilding it and swapped it out with the untested one it came with. The original board will be rebuilt and put back in at a later date.

I just put all the parts and pieces together yesterday. I turned it on and…spot killer on the deflection board. I tried to coin it up and I could hear it play blind. Is it the board set triggering the spot killer or the deflection board??? I decided to move a working Gravitar next to it and plug the Amplifone monitor in to the Gravitar to see if she worked. At first I got the spot killer again, but after playing with the new pots on the deflection board and pulling the image in, the spot killer turned off. Yes! Plugged the monitor back into the Star Wars and BAM! I got it up and Hummin! Today I installed the Empire Strikes Back Kit from VectorLabs and I am really hummin with the force. Just a few minor things to do to this cab still: new t-molding, clkean and paint some bolt heads, new locks and making sure everything is secured in place. I may put on new kick panel artwork from Phoneix Arcade so I don't have to see those lock bar holes. Now I need to get that Space Duel with factory Amp up and going.

Not mine, but the guy I picked the cab up from had it. I should have asked how much he wanted for it. I want to pick a juke up soon, but maybe a bit older.

There is no better sound in this hobby than the power-up humm of a Star Wars...although I'm not sure if the 19" humms as nicely as the 25" ;)

Congrats and well done !!!

Sometime size does matter! It is always nice and rewarding to see a project great done.
