A friend of mine is looking to purchase one of these. The sit down model with a big rear projection...

What is a nice working machine getting outside of ebay?

Uprights sell faster (as they have a much smaller footprint making them ideal for non-operators in the general public). Figure anywhere between $400 to $800 for a nice upright, possibly more if there's a real local nut.

While the deluxe setups appear much more complex and awe-inspiring, this does little to help their resale value. The square footage they hog generally hurts their asking price. You will have a tough time trying to sell one for more than $1200.

I'd personally pay much more for an upright than the deluxe.
