Hello All,

After months of back and forth about parting out or trying to make work a Star Wars Trilogy Deluxe machine I picked, I finally decided to keep it and give it a whirl. My goal was to get this thing to a size where I could fit in in my very small basement arcade, keep the original topper (which is awesome), some how keep the original side art and get the overall depth of the cabinet finished game to just the depth of the original control panel w/ seat....ie eliminate the projection tv cabinet. So to put in perspective.....wall mounted LCD tv with gnobes converter and wrap the side art and topper around it.

So with that, I'm pretty pleased with the outcome:

I like it!

I like this game a lot but it really is huge. Even the upright is too big for a small arcade. If it came in a standard size cab, I would have one.

Thanks for fixing the picture!!!! Agreed it is not for every situation and in my case I lucked out on my layout of my arcade. If you notice I used the base with all the game boards as a new stand for our slot machine..

That's awesome! Would love that machine, but ya, is way too big to get inside!

Key was to cut seat and control panel in half.....sounds crazy but a good sawzall with a good metal cutting blade and some cutting grease made quick work of it. ***Remove the stainless steel corners as well as the diamond plated rubber mat from floor first.

See Pic as to cut line. Once you do that (removing the wires first of coarse) you will have two hollow support beams that I stuffed two 2x3"s in about 3 feet in length. I need to shim little to make them tight. I did all of this with the seat and control panel braced on its side. Securing the pieces back together was tricky after moving them in place. This is a two person job, one steadying and the other drilling the pieces in place from the bottom. I put a totally of 8 self tapping 1-3/4" screws in bottom to secure two pieces. Basically two supports with a two screws on each side seat side and control panel side. Pretty solid once that was done and then flip it upright. The cut line needed a quick grind to flatten out and then I covered back up when I replied the diamond plated rubber mat so we can't tell it was ever cut except two small lines on side.

oops forgot to mention there is a cover that is removed to expose wires on bottom of cabinet.
