Controller was working until I had to mess with it. I had the game in test mode, went in to calibration, did exactly what it said and now the cursor on the screen is stuck hard right at the edge of the screen. I can move it to the middle but that's it. It's almost as though it thinks the right edge is the middle. It moves up and down normally. Pretty sure it's a software issue not a hardware issue. I unplugged the joystick and cursor is still at hard right.

I looked for restore factory settings in test and in the manual and did not see it. It's gotta be something painfully obvious that I am not getting.

I had a similar problem that I got worked out by repeatedly adjusting the joystick's pots for vertical and horizontal. For mine there was a bit of a "sweet zone," out of it worked how you described, in it works fine. I also messed with the adjustments on the joystick's small pcb board.

Also, I had to adjust the positioning of the metal plates that the XY/steering pots sit in.

It did take me a while, and after replacing one of the steering pots, I had to do it again. But, with patience I did get it working.

One more thing: I have an upright, but my board only works correctly, including steering, if I have it set on DX cabinet setting thru on screen setup. Might want to check it too.

Does it work like Star Wars? I know in that game to re-set centering on the crosshairs you're supposed to do a complete circle when you first turn on the game. The game's software then re-sets center for you.

Maybe try that?

It's working now. I went in and adjusted the 4 pots on the AMP board on the joystick and then went into calibration mode and set it again and it's centered. Thanks to Moomert1 for pm'ing me and pointing me in the right direction.

Edit, Moomert basically said what Reddogg is saying. Mine is set on upright though, not DLX.
Double Edit: It's not like the original one where it's self centering.
