I noticed that Dale has a nice looking Star Wars Trilogy Arcade for sale, and at first I thought "Ooooh. That would be nice to have."

However, my affection for it comes from a pretty limited experience when the game was out "in the wild" (due to expensive price-per-play), and I suspect that this is one of those console-ish games that can get old quick. I also suspect that it has little-to-no replay value once beaten.

Amirite?

What's he asking for it? I saw the two he bought in person..

even know what he paid.. =)

$1,695 Buy it Now (with "make offer").

The lack of replay value is a deal-breaker, though. Especially for the money it would take to get it. (Not that I have that kind of dough to drop a new game, anyways.)

Here's my blasphemous question: how much replay value does the original Star Wars have? (the one that so many people gladly pay big bucks to obtain). I think it's a fun game for a quick play-through now and then.

When you beat the game, it just ends...without carrying your score and starting over with increased difficulty?

Like most other classics, it has replay value in that you can always strive for the better score. Even if it's a matter of just getting 1 one more point over your high score, there's incentive there.

Wow.. I need to get into retailing games I buy at auction..

Looks like lots of profit. No wonder he was buying a lot and paying more than most would for games..

but the new one has high scores too...

But does it carry over with a new game (with increased difficulty) after you beat it? THAT is what I'm wondering.

If so, then I consider it to have some replay value. If not, then...bleh.

starwars trilogy just ends.. rolls the credits. I had a 50" sit down, paid 900.00 for it. I ended up selling it cause it took up the space of 5 machines!

Played this over the weekend at the crappy TILT arcade at the Sony Metreon in SF. The sitdown version with the vibrating chair and sound system. If you're a Star Wars fan, a must-have in my book. Good replay value or not.

I gots one. It is in a Virtua Fighter style cabinet and has full sideart.

It was not cheap...

but when you has something this beautiful... money doesn't matter anymore...
