I'm looking at buying a Star Wars Trilogy Deluxe machine, but the guy told me it turns off and flips the breaker in the machine after the startup screen disappears. I think that's what he was referring to, I'm not familiar with this arcade. Mostly wondering if there's some cable that he's missing that needs to be connected or if there's a common problem with these things randomly turning off. Any help is appreciated.

if its actually popping a breaker thats scary.

those sega games are well known for power supply issues, and the power suppies dont come cheap.

youll have to actually look at it and see if you can see more or get a better description about whats going on. Hopefully the monitor is not causing the breaker to pop. they ere not easy to find and nobody fixes them at least around me.

That's what I was afraid of. Unfortunately it, along with some other machines, is in a storage unit and I don't think there's a power outlet to test it on to see what is happening. He wants $600 for it, which sounds reasonable as long as nothing is severely damaged in it. What sounds like a comfortable price for it? I can talk him down to maybe $400 since I think he wants them gone pretty soon.

i got mine waaayyyyy cheaper. If this the white bench deluxe( like mine) or the bigger black(lol) deluxe? they also made an upright fyi.

in my area, knowing its broken, id say a broken trilogy would be $100-250 white, mabye 300 for a black one.. 100-200 for an upright.

working upright 400-600, white deluxe mabye 450-700 black mabye 500-800 ish

just depends on how bad you want the game i suppose.

Too bad you arent local. Id let you have my fully working white trilogy for $600 all day.

I agree that's a bit much for a non-working machine. They are definitely cool to have, but as cadillacman said the projection monitors can be a pain to deal with and unfortunately there isn't someone that regularly works on them. I ended up getting help fixing mine from a TV repair forum. They had some very knowledgeable people that walked me through some troubleshooting and wouldn't you know it ended up being cold solder that I missed the first time I tore into it.

yeah on my toshiba montior it was just totally dead. DId some checking and did not find anything obious with it.

I ended up getting another toshiba monitor from a top skater( thanks again troy!!) , then gutted both monitors and switched everything over. Lots of work for old krappy burned in tubes lol but at least it works.

Now that im getting into fixing flat panel tvs i might set aside the next 42" lcd to tinker with and see if i find a way to hook it up and make it work.

i have a plasma now but i dont think plasma will be a good idea with these games, the idea is to get rid of the burn not have worst burn lol

I think it was another KLOVer that has a Sega Star Wars Arcade machine (the 2 player sit-down from 94) and he wasn't able to get the monitor part to fit in his gameroom or whatever. He ended up wall mounting an LCD and playing the game straight through that. If you get your Trilogy working with a setup like that, I'd love to see pics! My projection monitor doesn't have the greatest picture and I've seen some in the wild with replacement flat screens. They do look nice. I'd probably do what the other KLOVer did and wall mount a TV to play it on and just hang onto the projection TV.

It's the large sit-down black deluxe version. I'm going to e-mail him soon and ask him if the screen came on at all to show it starting up. From what he was saying, it sounds like it starts up with the loading items displaying on the screen, and then shuts off/flips the breaker when the actual game starts.
