At the risk of this turning into another Daviea Lynching thread.. Does anyone have a source for the NARROW black and 'relatively' flat t-molding used on the Star Wars cockpit cabs?

To me, it looks a LOT flatter than the stuff available from most places and I am needing some for my cockpit cab..

Any help would be appreciated.

isn't it just regular black T-molding? I know the stuff on top is unique (i have some new by the way)

From photos I've seen, it's looks a lot flatter than the regular stuff..??

Be interested in seeing a comparison if anyone has a sample of both..

Sample of Both

1. Game Masters (Victoria, Australia)

2. Starwars Outer frames x 2 (Hoops, arches etc)

Inner Frame etc

Let us know what you think

:)

I think the original is total crap and could be wider, so what's the point trying to match it perfectly. They were rushed together and are poorly built if you ask me.

Why not just get a similar T Mold and just do a good job trimming it to size :)

I think it's the same stuff. It would be hard to believe that with all the 3/4" black t-molding Atari used, they would have done special tooling for that perceived slight difference. I know what you mean about it seeming flatter, but I think it's the same.

you'd be supprised how flat it gets when you pound it in with a rubber mallet, i have good luck with it.

I understand what you mean, and I too have a feeling that Atari's t-molding was a bit different from the general black T-molding we can get nowadays.

But that's not just on the SW cockpit, but also on f.i. my Centipede.

Anyway, the difference it too small to be really worried about.

Thanks for the replies guys.. I think I can safely go with universal stuff out there.

Hey Hoops, are you using 16mm or 19mm MDF/Board?

Check with the supplier of the T-Mold that it will cover.

I bought it (From Game Masters) to use on 16mm panels
