One side of my machine has some sun fade. The only color really impacted is the red on the X-wing. Its almost non-existent. The side art is in otherwise good shape and it would be a shame to remove it and apply repo art.

I'm looking for some ideas on bringing back the red color. My only idea at the moment is to mask the area out and go to town on it with an red sharpie. Which sounds pretty ghetto to me. But the original art has some transparency in the red, so that's my best guess.

Anyone with some better insight or idea would be appreciated.

thanks!

Heh.. I also have a Crystal Castle with the faded red gems. Looks like i need to buy the sharpie big pack.

Yeah, I think you are right. I did a test on my Crystal Castles last night. The gems looked okay but i started to see streaky lines when working on Bentley's belt. I was using a fine tip sharpie though.

The pilot jumbo series has a huge tip and can probably cover the x-wing stripes in one or 2 strokes. Gonna give that a shot.

I'm on the look out for a marker that's UV resistant, i don't think the jumbo is..

Thanks! I'll look into it. Opaque is okay for CC, but Star Wars has some black detail in the red areas that i don't want to cover completely.

I think using the sharpie may be successful if you leave the right amount of ink with the right amount of passes in the right amount of time. It'll be streaked if you quick pass it and leave it, but if you run back n forth while moving along the line it leaves more ink evenly.

Sharpie is what I used on my SW....the orange one!

lol.. I'm actually considering orange. The artwork on the other side is more orange than red. And I was wondering what red ink over it would look like... ahhh!! now I'm freaking myself out..
