I just recieved my ROTJ today, and powered it up, with no luck, here´s the pics of the PCB:

There´s some "rust" on some of the ram´s (red circle and diode)

When i power up, there´s no light in the diode (not a good sign):

and ofcourse no image on the monitor (yes, 19") :)

Maby i have to buy a new ROTJ PCB, or? any suggestions...

The 74ls245 is an octal buffer. To me it just looks like the chip was replaced and it was a lousy soldering job. Really lousy. With lots of rosin/flux left on the board. Get some 99% rubbing alcohol from the drugstore and use a q-tip to try to clean it up, front and back of the board. Then take a look at all the joints to make sure they're ok.

I don't know the ROTJ boards, and ROTJ in a SW cockpit would be weird anyway. So I'm guessing at the following. I suspect the "missing" chip on the daughter card shouldn't be there. That's just the way the board connects to the mother board. It's hard to tell from the overhead angle, but I think the screw would keep you from plugging in a chip even if you wanted to.

I assume you reseated all the harness connectors when you got the cabinet? Try removing the board and then powering up. Any response? Do you get a raster? Is the screen just a solid white? Solid black? Something interesting? Try turning up the brightness on the monitor to see it. Can you measure the power supplies...first with the board installed and then without? Do the cabinet lights work? (Marquee? Coins?) Stupid question - is it plugged in and turned on?

Actually I thought the monitor was off. But when I look again, the monitor seems bright (solid white) with some horizontal bands. Is it? If so then the raster is working. And the problem is limited to the board and power supply.

i have reseated all the remoable roms, but:
i tried to messure the voltage on the fuses (see pic)
i think i need a new fuse, because when i was messuring the red diode on the ROTJ PCB turned on and i could hear the speakers humming.... :)

Hey that's good news! It's hard to see in the pic, but it looks like there's some dirt/rust on the fuses/holders. Take each fuse out and measure its resistance to be sure. If there's any rust you might as well replace it. While the fuses are out see if you can clean the fuse holders with a toothbrush/q-tip/whatever. Also make sure the wires are well connected to the holders.

From a players side and investment side ditch the ROTJ, put that machien back to what it was meant to be and not only will it be worth more money but it will be much more enjoyable to play! ROTJ was ok but there is nothing like SW with an ESB kit installed ;)

I had the same problem with my rotj. fuse f-3 was shot and the powerbrick needed a rebuild. after a new "big blue cap " and bridge it was good to go.

The crusty residue is just nasty old flux from old rework... could have even been factory.

No LED is a good sign... at this point, you can hope it's just a bad PS, which is far easier to fix/replace than the PCB.
