So back in October I started a thread about a Star Wars for sale locally( http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=252094&highlight=1iblind ). The lady selling it was asking $1000 and wouldn't budge off of her price. After I had talked to her she said that she had been re-posting it on CL for about a year. You would think that would give her a hint that maybe she should lower her price. She wouldn't take the hint. Per your guys advice on what it was worth I made her a reasonable offer of $600. She wouldn't take it. A few weeks ago she lowered her price to $800 and it sold within a couple days. Not sure what she ended up selling it for.
Anyway, another Star Wars was just posted on CL this morning and the person selling this one has an insanely unrealistic price of $3.200 (http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/vgm/3468511519.html). Hoping they had made a typo I called the number listed in the ad. He said it had been in storage for about 8 years but when he plugged it in it worked. When I asked him "Can I ask why the price is $3,200?" he said that he had "Done his research". My response every time someone says this is "Were you looking at asking or selling prices?" He said "That's what they are going for online but I'm open to offers." I offered him $600 and as I had predicted he said "No". Then he told me that he had already had an offer for $2,800 and I said "Take it! and if they don't come through let me know." I REALLY doubt he got an offer for that much judging by his pictures.
People selling Stars Wars here in NM keep getting crazier. Why can't people do some real research? It really doesn't take that long. Sellers need to learn to look at selling prices and not asking prices. Well I hope this guy comes to his senses because I'd really like to get this Star Wars for my wife for Christmas. Ever since she played the one that they other lady was selling she fell in love with it. I think it's an awesome game to!
