Have to take my Star Wars and ESB cabinet to a huge exhibition on friday, so I really need help.
I have 2 Star Wars cab, one with the ESB kit pcb.
The sound is gone on the ESB one, tried to replace the top sound board from the other pcb, but it also stopped working, so I have 2 pcbs without sound.
Swapped the AR II boards and nothing changed, so the problem has to be on the top sound pcb.
Checked all forums and youtube videos, but didnt find anything that 100% useful.
Checked the voltages on the test points on the pcb, +12V,-5V and +5V is ok.
Also tried the 2 test points on this video where you can hear all the sounds in a row, but no sound at all.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WHG5dI0YB0
On the ESB pcb there is a red 0 under "Sound test"
The SW pcb skip sound test option, it does not exist in test mode, it disappeard.
Any help would be appreciated.

Meanwhile I tested the AR2 board test points for voltages, there are 2 points, where has to be +36V, the reading is just 0,26V.
Any idea what should I check now?

First of all, many thanks for trying to help me.
Tried to reseat the interconnect pcb, it didnt help.
I can make most basic repairs, but have no idea, which ones are the pokey chips.
What should I check?

They are the four large chips (40 pin - I believe) all in sockets and next to each other. Should probably have a part number on them like - C012294B

The are custom Sound Generation chips and I/O functions. They are available for typically $5.00US each. EDIT: I guess I'm showing my age. I remember when you could buy them for $5.00 each. Those were the days.

You could try reseating them in the sockets or moving the position of each chip to see if anything changes. Good Luck.

I wish I could find them for $5 each

Definitely a good idea to swap them around and see what happens.
