I may have an incoming Star Wars which has a couple of hopefully minor monitor issues (not sure if its a WG but at the moment I am assuming it is).

First - theres a green center spot with a feint vector web from center to screen edges - is this just a brightness adjust? It looks like everything is a little bright from what I can see but not sure if thats the cause.

Second, theres a pretty major distortion mostly noticeable when the death star explodes. When the vector circles are close to full screen its VERY egg shaped and in fact almost square with rounded corners at times. When its further out it looks fine.

I suspect they are both simple adjustments - can anyone confirm?

The first is a simple adjustment as you say - either overall brightness or balancing of the color drives / cutoffs. Easily done by way of the pots on the WG6100 neck board.

I would bet that it is a 6100 in there because that distortion is a known consequence of using a 6100 with a Star Wars because that game board did not have pincushion correction on the PCB. It was done by the Amplifone which was the original monitor on all Star Wars. It cannot be adjusted out. The only way to fix it is to add an extra "pincushion correction" circuit which have been made but can be hard to find.
