Star Wars Episode 1 Pinball... Opinions

Totally wrong S.W. is so much better than Revenge from Mars.

SWE1 doesn't have as much interactivity or the "hologram effect" like RFM...it just lays the movie on the playfield, while RFM cleverly puts "virtual targets" for you to hit. RFM just uses the concept so much better, and is a better game. Plus ...themewise...Ep.1....bleh.

Just put it in the house. Here are some pics...

Looks like a great example, congrats on the pickup! I forgot for a second how nice the art looks on this machine.

Nice... What do the NUCORE upgrades go for? Being able to turn my SWE1 pin into a jukebox is also very cool.

Awesome..

Wow! That is a really good looking machine! I think you got a good deal...have fun with it!

P.S. that nucore thing likes pretty interesting. I don't know a lot about the Pinball 2000 systems and didn't realize that some of the parts are very hard to find..hmmmm..

I don't have a direct link just type in NUCORE pinball 2000 it bascilly updates the Cyrix mediaGX cpu which is almost impossible to find, it replaces it with modern technology and eliminates the prism card also. Its supposed to really smooth out the graphics. Its 895.00 for the new box and 185.00 to get the video card to work with the exisiting monitor or no video card and 200.00 to get the LCD drop in. So your looking around 1200.00 but then its bullet proof. I just had a computer go bad on mine and it was 600.00 to replace, I didn't have the 1000.00 to upgrade plus I'm selling mine. PM MIKE BETZ as he's taught me all about the PIN2K and NUCORE and he fixed mine. Enjoy your machine it looks very nice. Make sure your fan in your power supply is working well cuz they are notorious for falling and if it goes the PS will get hot and take out the computer. The new power supplies are 20.00 new computers are 500-1000!

Not to rain on anyones parade but there is a reason these pinball 2000 games were the downfall of williams. They absolutely positively suck in every way shape and form. I'm really surprised anyone could have any positive things to say about these turds. The biggest problem out of the many, is of course the stupid monitor which basically drowns out your vision of the upper part of the playfield thus causing you to lose track of the ball. Very repetitive as well. The designers lost sight of what draws people to play pinball....because its live action, not a video game. Pinball and video go together like oil and water.

It was the first time in years they actually made money.

There lack in getting the Star Wars to market was a misteak. They would ship over seas first them release locally. Release of the SW E1 was 6 months too late.

Bottom line it was going to happen reguarless... Rent or watch the movie Tilt and become enlightened.

BTW,

I have both Revenge From Mars and Star Wars Episode 1..... Like them both!

Really depends on my mood... on what I want to play.

Don't forget about the lasers on SW... you do have some interacive play.

Now check your power supply for a working fan.... one of the things that fails alot in these games, as they age.

I am going to be puting up a way to install an ATX power supply into the CPU box this weekend, in case anyone wants to know how.
