Star War's Empire Strikes Back Kits

This is one time, where I actually believe that all the people saying they will buy one will actually follow through lol. People have waited a long time for these. Looks great.

Agree with that... Don't even have a Star Wars and I need one of these. :)

I'm just glad this is finally public...it was killing me. Now we can see all of those scalpers trying to get $400 for their Spaeth boards eat it!

If this is a line, I'm getting in it for the SW/ESB boards.

Considering the menu with the prices is all the way at the front of the line, I'll have to see I brought enough cash when we get closer.

In other words, I'm interested!

Mike,

If I already have a Clay C. Star Wars / ESB kit installed, will I be able to take it out and replace it with yours?

It had the kit installed in it when I bought it 12 years ago so I don't have the parts that were removed to install the original multi-kit.

Thx
Tom

Yes, from what I have seen Clay & Mark's kits use the square post pins which stretch out the dip sockets to where there are hardly usable anymore. I use the round Mill Max type of
pins on all my boards.

Mike

....which will rule out upgrading from either kit to yours.......

I really, really, really like the NO-SWITCH feature. I have STILL not gotten myself to make a hole in my cockpit kickplate for it....

Not if you replace the bad sockets. :)

Doesn't sound tempting though....

So.....there is no wire between all three boards like there is on Marks' ?

That would be a big improvement. I guess there is no need for it because it doesn't require a hard switch ?

As shown in the pictures there is a 3 pin connector on the sound PCB & vector PCB.
Those both go back to the main PCB, however all cables & connectors are included
with the kit. No cable is needed for the prom PCB. Also no bending out of pins of the
Eproms and soldering wires to them like earlier boards. All Eproms are also replaced by
newer flash memory.

my question is how do you switch between sw and esb?
is there and flexing of the boards after instalation due to this kit?
In SW will it save all high scores or only top 3?
