I found this today, I could pick it up cheap ($200) from a family friend (My dad is good friends with the owner) but it would be way too much of a project IMO, it was converted to an Afterburner and it pretty beat up. Just thought I'd share it with you guys!!

I must say I haven't seen a SW cockpit in person in years and had forgot the size of this, it's actually smaller than what I thought it was going to be...

Here's the pics...

No, it's in PA, but I could have my brother bring it to me the next time he came down. It's missing everything. If I could only find a donor cab this cab is solid and would make a good transplant recipient. I guess I'll always know where it's at if I find a donor...

One of the few grails that I have yet to acquire. It would be a huge money pit, but it would be fun to restore it. I'd probably do a tasteful mame conversion while gathering all original parts.

If you change your mind, PA might be close enough for me to drive depending on where it is...couldn't hurt to ask anyway. ;)

Hmm, PA is sounding attractive. How far towards the ocean? Imho it's definitely worth picking up, but not sure what they are looking for in return. Definitely a project measured in years. But most of mine are. :D

Here is some inspiration if you plan to go for it....

I plan to have mine finished later this year. Really...I mean it...

I will say that if the paint looks to be in good shape, chances are the artwork will look very nice once you get the paint off. The Atari vinyl is very sturdy and does not get damaged with careful application of a stripper like Citristrip. Check out my 2nd and 3rd links for how good it looks once the paint comes off...

Wouldn't be as bad as that $5000 converted Blaster Cockpit found in Austrailia.:)

Ok, so if the paint comes off and the art is even decent, and you have a spare WG6100, then I'd go for it. Missing everything, and if the art is no good, you'd end up with a money pit that's not so aesthetically pleasing. Good luck whatever you do though

I gave it a good look over and I can't tell if the artwork is there or not.. it's painted over, and I'd bet they didn't remove the old art, but who knows what shape the the art is in underneath.

I don't even have a spare monitor at this point, and I don't have room to sit this as a project anywhere... so I'm going to leave it sit where I always know where it's at. I'm sure I could even get a return on the Afterburner parts, or even keep it as an afterburner until I can convert it... but then I go back to not having room for it. I would totally have the room for a nice SW Cockpit that was complete, however :)

Now you have me thinking! WOW. That is really inspirational.. now I have to think if I have it in me! LOL. I have SOOOO many projects right now, but the good thing is I know this isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and I could just have my brother snag it up before he comes down in a few months...

Do it man. Have your brother grab it for you, just to put it away until you actually find the time to get into the thick of it. TBH, that is when things get really fun. Crank up the 80's music while muscling it back into shape. You'll enjoy it I gaurantee you that. Maybe I'll luck out someday and Brett can make me a Edot or SW from his CNC machine.
I have alot of holy grails but those two really are great accomplishments in one's collection.
And you've hit the nail on the head where I'm at right now with space. I can fit 2 more uprights in my arcade, maybe if I used the side room I could put 3 more, but dude---I really need a good pole barn out back to work on with some lumber. This is getting retarded.
If I were married - I'd be divorced.

If you wind up getting it and need a working boardset, I have one I could sell that I was keeping as a spare for my upright.

Where in PA? I would buy it and restore it if it is close to me! I can save it.

Start collecting parts for it now. By the time you get them all, you may have space for it.
