My Star Wars started playing blind so I sent my amplifone boards out for repair. They tested out OK so I sent my main boards out and here is what was found:

"Your AVG Board is bad. It looks like all the voltages are good but there is no Y signal at all. It's not any socketed chips and I do not think its a TL082 ( op amp)."

While this person has been very helpful, he can't do the necessary repair currently so I need to send them to someone else. Can anyone recommend a good board repair person?

On a related note, I'd like to pick up a spare set of SW boards if anyone has any for sale.

Thanks!

It was me that looked over the boards. I used my scope and there is no Y signal. Spent a little time on it and could not narrow down where the failure is. I am pretty sure it's not the op-amps and all the voltages looked to be ok. I just don't have any more time to go any further on these as I am getting close to moving.

He's pretty swamped at the moment though.

Talk to Clvie at coinop cauldron.

Mostly known for pin board repairs, if you click on "professional board repairs", you will find this.

"Our aim is to keep those cherished games of yours running well into the future. Founded by an ex-Atari engineer with 25 years electronics and software experience including coin-op, you know you're in good hands."

I've used him before for board repairs and he's top notch!
