Star Wars - Blur at the Bottom

Here are some picks of the previous work. There are some I put a red square around that I am interested if it was original or modified. Also curious if these are the original caps or replacements. Light Blue's are new?

As others have said here the screen blur in the attract mode is normal. However, the instability of the screen when your hit by a fireball and that death star explosion make me think that somethings wrong with your HVU (high voltage unit).

Do you have another one that you can toss into the game and see if anything changes? Perhaps another collector nearby with one?

Those caps in the red square are factory. Looks like some of the electrolytics have already been changed. That doesn't mean they are still good though.

OK, so I'm over here looking at the SW, and the HV is low it was running about 9Kv, max we can get is about 13Kv.

Not familiar enough with the Amp monitors, any one have any suggestions on the low HV?

+B will only goto 130V

Ok, so I took the HV board to my place. Put it in my SW, just to verify. Yep Still not enough HV.

Checked the +24v and -24v +24 was running good, but the -24v was only getting -19v in, thus the output was bad.

Started checking, and I found that several of the pads on the regulators were actually split. So I bridged the connections, and I have a solid +24 and solid -30v going into the neg regulator, but still only getting about -14v out.

Caps have been replaced no help there.

The other thing we found was that the Dag Gnd was not hooked up.

HV is now running about 15Kv, still trying to track down the -24v problem.
