Hey all,

I'm having a problem with my data east star wars pinball.
i loaded 3 balls into the machine. When i turn it on it says 1 ball missing. after i skip that warning i fire up a 1 player game and 2 balls come out at a time.

when i remove 1 ball from the machine it works fine, though tri ball now becomes double ball. Does anyone else know what is happening or have had this same experience with a data east machine? Is something shot or a setting off?

Not sure why this started happening it just did one day after turning it on.

Any help would be most appreciated!

My guess would be that one of the switches that detect the balls in the trough isn't working.
Probably the one closest to the shooting lane. I would pull off the apron and check the switches in test mode.

Keep in mind I'm new to pins and could be completely wrong:)

Something is probably wrong with your ball trough switches.

Remove the plastic apron and put the game into Diagnostics - Switch Edges test and test the switches in the ball trough using the actual balls.

I'm betting the issue is there.

yeah...likely a ball trough issue. with my DE SW i have been fighting the launch-two-balls thingy for a while. i think my last switch is janky......i've bent it back/up so that there's not as much play in it anymore and that has helped, though it still launches two every once in a while.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I will remove the apron and see what i got. Hopefully its just a setting or something got bumbled when i carted from a pinball show to my basement.

Honestly if it keeps having this issue I think i am just going to leave two balls in the machine. the nieces and nephews and my daughters won't even notice the difference. It will drive me nuts but oh well.

Again many thanks!

Most likely it is either a broken wire going to one of those switches, or one is out of adjustment and not making contact when the ball is setting on it. Use the switch test in the diagnostics to see which is not working, then you can focus on the one switch that is not working.
