Star Trek Voyager UR - Just Boots to Linux Desktop

Hmm... Been a long time since I've had to mess with one of those boards.

I recall this being one of a few things.

The parallel port not being set right in BIOS. Look up the correct settings for the games BIOS, it should be out there.

Bad video card, although I think that would be obvious.

Bad security PIC on the JAMMA I/O board. This is not good. Last time I asked about getting a new one I was quoted $1500. Its the button cell battery looking thing on the I/O board.

I have an image of a working hard drive floating around if that
helps anyone.

I also have an IO board with the security button in unknown
condition (was pulled from a working machine).

Might even have a mobo around somewhere if someone
knows the original model #. I have a box of old mobos and I
think there's a Voyager in there.

Check out this post which I replied to about a month ago which may have some helpful info about setting the BIOS and info on the 2 different mother boards. From what I have found out a dedicated upright game only works on a Medium Resolution monitor but the kit will work on both standard Resolution and Medium Resolution monitors. Also theirs a link to a you tube video of the cockpit booting. Looks like the program should start loading right after the Linux desktop. Maybe the security button on the Megajamma is not making a good connection. Someone once told me to spin it in the holder to make sure it made contact but I haven't had any problems with mine so far.

Resetting the BIOS totally worked! Thanks!

You should consider changing your cmos battery. That's probably why you lost your bios settings.

Once you change it, you will have to set the bios again.

True.

I have learned that my hands don't obey my head when I tell them to be careful lol. My luck I would create another issue.
