Hey fellas! I just picked up a voyager cockpit and one of the guns works perfect, the other flashes on the screen when the trigger is pulled, but the crosshairs do not show up on the screen during calibration. They show up sometimes if you hold the gun extremely close to the screen, but at regular distance the screen flashes with the trigger pull, but no "ammo" comes out of the gun.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this, do I just need to go through and clean the gun itself?

I have also read that changing the brightness on the screen would help, but I am not sure how to change it or access that as it is a beast of a cabinet and I am not sure the best way to adjust this. Also, would that affect the other gun, which seems to be working near perfection where it currently is? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ;)

If one gun works and the other does not I would suspect it's the gun. Try swapping the guns and see if the problem moves with the gun. Just open up the back and you will have to remove the metal cage to get access to the gun connections. On the right side of the MEGA JAMMA board the guns plug in with 2, 4 pin connectors. Just swap the two with the game off and then retest and see if the working gun works on the other player side. If so then you have a bad gun. You may have a broken wire going to the gun, dirty optic lens in the end of the gun or a bad gun sensor on the board inside the gun or the sensor solder broke loose from the board. Any Happ 4 wire gun will work. Does your game have the Happ Space Guns? or regular .45 cal guns?

Thanks for your reply Sam. I cleaned what I could of the gun in question and it is working much, much better. It is covering the center 75-80% of the screen but is still having a little trouble reaching the outer part of the screen. The gun brightness is all the way up at 7 currently, and I can't put it much lower or neither gun will show up. Do you know how I can get to adjust the brightness on the monitor? I think this may solve my problem, but not for sure. I am new to working on this stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

It's interesting that you have those green space-ray type guns. My upright has blue and red guns that looks like phasers pistols...

The one I am referring here is a cockpit edition (yes, it was quite interesting to load at almost 800lbs ;)) and it actually has one 45 gun, and a space-ray type one. I really think the gun that was having problems is ok, as it is covering at least 75% of the screen. However, the outer part isn't quite there yet, and I am not sure how to tweak the brightness settings of the monitor, or get to it, so I can turn down the brightness settings for the gun during the calibration, which is all the way up so the guns come in at all.

I would think your guns look like the green one I have. If they dont please take a picture. I did order a red space gun from happ, the 4 wire version for only $79.90. I decided to order a blue one to but they have to build one so I dont know when it will arrive. I'll keep the green one's for backup. If you ever need a Happ space gun dont buy the only one listed on their site. It's got the rear button and its a five wire gun and cost $193.75. but it will work. Just do a search for space gun on Happs site and you will get the other guns and parts.

The adjustments for the monitor are on the small remote board to the right just below the monitor mounted on the edge of the shelf. You can see it in the picture. I think it has both brightness and contrast. Mine are turned all the way up and the picture is a little dark but both guns work great. Hopeing a cap kit will help mine.

After looking at your pic some more, they might be the same, but without those tie wraps...

The gun came with the tie wraps. :)
After taking my new gun apart to look inside I see why they used them, those nuts and screws are a pain to get started wile holding the gun together. :D

Thanks a lot for your help! My adjustments were in a slightly different location, but I found it and turned it up and both guns are working great! Thanks again!
