The story with this machine is it was originally located in a grocery store in Louisville, KY. My uncle's friend picked it up in 1988. The grocery burned down 2 weeks later! It sat in his garage until I picked it up in 2017.
Notice the water damage at the bottom. This was caused by it sitting close to the garage door all those years. It does lean to the left pretty badly, hence th board propping it up.

The insides are in great condition. No corrosion or issues with the PCB's. I have lots of pics. It weighs about 280lbs according to the brochure. All original parts from the factory.

Asking $2,000. You can arrange a shipping company to pick it up at your own expense.

Thanks for posting the detailed photos. It's nice to see the arrangement of components and wiring inside a largely untouched cabinet for future reference. So many of these were converted (duh) to other configurations and bringing them back to original can sometimes pose a challenge.

For any potential buyers, I still do mail in repair for the logic set and monitor chassis. Even if it 'works', I would proceed with caution as time, weather, and previous thermal cycling when in use has taken its toll on the solder, at minimum. Good deal on a largely intact, original, and complete cabinet!

Thank you for all of the pics and details. I just wanted to comment that with the way things are right now with jobs etc, you might have some trouble getting $2k from someone when it's not known if it works. If you have someone walk you through powering it up even to play blind, you'll probably sell it in a NY minute.

Great game and I truly look forward to it finding a new owner. Many of us have games with no history at all, and you have s ton, that rocks. You could even call the orig store owner and have them post an ad. There are ppl on this site who have bought games just because of where they once were! Keep us posted!

This is great advice! I am not a huge collector, but the few games I have, I have for sentimental reasons. I guarantee there are people that would want it because they played that specific game as a kid.

Looks like it was a ZAXXON previously.
Star Trek had three dedicated styles from the factory. This was one of them, and appears to be factory original (has the Star Trek factory sticker).

Why they ALSO made a special dedicated upright I'll never fully understand, but this does appear to be original.

Presumably Star Trek was a big license so the game got special treatment in their lineup, with a dedicated upright and a very cool cockpit. But Sega also offered their "Convert-a-Game" line at the time, which was sold as a product that allowed ops to easily (and relatively cheaply) switch the same zaxxon-style cabinet between any of the Sega vector games. So they offered ST in that style cabinet too, to build extra value for the Convert-a-Game lineup.

GLWTS

Most likely this was a factory one, I remember the kits had a different cage lid with a edge connector and the harness came with and edge connector that plugged into the cage lid and ran wires to each component (power supply, control panel, coin door) they probably had some cabinets left over from other game runs, Star Trek is a great game hopefully someone saves it
