I have a Star Trek with a bad power supply. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried converting over to a switcher?

I found a schematic and it seems as though the only non standard voltage is -12

see here;

before I fabricate a rig, I was wondering if anyone has ever been down this road?

Thanks in advance

I will keep ya'll posted on how I fare

Now after a 2nd look, I am confused...
what is #3 white wire labled AC mean?

I know Mongo did a write up on the G08 and at the end it included a modification to adapt a switcher.

I have not done any of the various mods myself but I am sure others have. The less I touch my Star Trek the better. I moved an extra one I had to a different spot in the room and lost deflection in the monitor.
