STAR TREK NOS Marquee autographed by both SHATNER (KIRK) and NIMOY! (SPOCK)

Ok KLOV gang... up for grabs is one of my favorite pieces that I've collected through the years, and certainly one of the most unique.

(1983 SEGA) STAR TREK Marquee
Signed by BOTH Shatner & Nimoy!
(Nimoy signed "Welcome aboard Captain" which is what he says in computer talk when you start the game.)

ITS A FULL UNCUT PIECE OF N.O.S. ORIGINAL OVERLAY MARQUEE THAT CAME IN THE CONVERSION KIT. NOT A PLEXIGLASS MARQUEE. It is not stuck to the backing paper, is very solid and not brittle. It peels good off the paper and will lay flat and stick very nicely to a piece of plexiglass! Has a few air bubbles and wrinkles on the backing paper/backside but isn't baked on there and will mount without problems or leave AS-IS with the backing paper on. There is a few very minor surface imperfections or specks of damage, not bad or even noticable on the marquee but I wanted to point out that it doens't look fresh off the printing press flat, although the colors are vibrant and vivid being stored away all these years instead of on a machine and its not torn or ripped.

It measures 27 1/2 inches width by 9 1/2 inches height.

These signatures are done in Silver PAINT PEN - NOT a crappy Sharpie! They should and will last for a lifetime if cared for!

Obtained In person, personally by myself, at seperate times to get each of their signatures.
A signature at the time costed $70 for each signature for either SHATNER or NIMOY, PLUS admission to the venue's where I was able to obtain these was $25 or so to walk in the door.

It would easily cost $100+/each signature plus a few hours of work and gas to get each of these on a new piece IF Shatner OR Nimoy were even available near you. I spent ALOT of effort to get these pieces and was never intending on selling them, but aside from sitting in a closet for years and years I don't have a use for this piece.

I brought pieces for a few buddies (including the local djw90 stuff listed was all my work to obtain for him), and for myself had been assembling both signatures on the marquee, my pinball backglass and a cockpit Star Trek control panel all signed. Since I'm keeping the pinball and cockpit indefinately and don't really have a use for the marquee other than wall-art, its up for grabs!

DJW recently traded a marquee signed only by Nimoy for a Kong Off marquee. I'm basically taking that rough guide of value and adding a Shatner signature cost on top of it and thanks my starting point.

Not really interested in trades other than Lunar Lander CPO or thruster parts.

I also took the picture of the upset lady getting ready to pounce as I pulled out my camera REALLY fast as Leonard was signing the arcade parts I brought to have him signed. No pictures was the policy, but how could I resist?! About 1 seconds later the lady was lunging at me and the Seattle Police were stepping in next to me and speeding up getting me out of there!

Wow, very cool piece. I'm guessing that the lower signature is that of Shatner? Can't make it out very well, but still I wish I could pick this up from you.

Good luck with your sale.

I think it says something about "naming your own price" :)

awesome piece for sure

That is a awesome piece. Its one of a kind!!! I believe Nimoy told Karl that he had never signed anything from the Star Trek Arcade other than our pieces.
The addition of the "Welcome Aboard Captian" Was my Idea. And I think it added a nice personal touch to Nimoy's signature. :)

Karl what did Shatner say, had he ever signed anything from the Star Trek arcade?? I doubt it!!

Nice Price Karl!!

Im going to hang on to the rest of my stuff for now. These guys wont be around forever.:cool::cool:

Call me crazy, but would think that the sign Star Trek marquee would be worth a hell of a lot more than a kong off marquee. If you look down the road a few years, most people aren't going to remember the Kong Off. They'll remember Shatner and Nimoy.

BTW I think Shatner goes by "Bill" a lot, so most of the end of it looks like "Shatner", can't make out what initial or whatever he did at the front of it. Maybe a B?

True It is worth more. However I had 2 Nimoy signed marquees, and 1 signed control panel, Problem is I have a Dedicated HUO Star Trek and none of these fit that machine. So they are just in boxes. I decided to let one go for a limited edition Kong Off Marquee. They are selling for $200 on ebay. Not sure if I broke even on it. We were 300 miles away from the signing. I met karl halfway. After paying my fuel, Karls fuel, Signature fees, and insured return shipping I was in pretty deep.

I am happy with the Kong Off Marquee and think it was a fair trade!!

Yes, Shatner & Nimoy are both 80 and won't be around much longer... It was an honor meeting them both.

If I didn't have a cockpit control panel and a beautiful pinball backglass autographed by both I wouldn't even consider selling this marquee.

Shatner goes by "Bill" and all the signatures I have and saw him doing were harder to read and sped through. Shatner hardly looked up or talked to anyone, until he came to me and my '78 Bally Star Trek backglass... Shat & Nimoy both had similar thoughts on the pinball. Shatner said it was gorgeous and that he'd never seen another one. I told Bill how far I'd gone and he gave me the Spock eye probably tempted to call security on an over achieving trekkie.

Nimoy when first doing the marquees stated that he had not seen a Star Trek arcade marquee before. His exact words about the pinball machine glass were "beautiful" and wanted to know a little about what it was. Whether or not it clicked with either of them what a "pinball / arcade machine" is I don't know.

They didn't want you taking pictures because they wanted you to pay another $70 for a picture of him WITH you! Damn capitalists!

I can't argue or even disagree at charging signature fee's. At $70 a whack there were 1000 people in line in Las Vegas to get a Shatner sig and I waited a few hours in line... If they were FREE you'd have 5000 people all wanting 3 items signed, so they charge to discourage signature flippers and the vultures of the autograph hobby! I've seen plenty through my adventures (autograph vultures) its actually quite disgusting how people treat someone they supposedly admire so much!
