star trek next generation price check

Prices are kinda high lately on this one, last few on ebay went from 3200-4000. I think if you can get one between 2500-3000 I feel is a good price.

The game is very good. top 5-10 pin in my book. Rules are easy to understand the theme works well if you were ever into the TV series.

It requires a bit of tweaking to make everything run perfect, but it's got a lot of cool ramps on it. Lastly there are still alot of parts available for it.

If you find a machine that's below 2000 grab it anything above look at the condition really closely.

A solid $3,500 Machine easily. If you can snag for $2800-3000 I'd definitely get more serious in my considerations.

Anything under 2800 I'd instantly buy to flip if it came down to it

Seems like this machine is becoming a $3000+ machine. If you can get one without major issues for $2500-2800, you are doing good in my opinion. But don't be surprised to pay $3k or more for a nice one.

Great game that is easy to understand but challenging.

stng

Id say 3k plus, seems like prices have been going up with demand. I paid $1000 for mine 2 years ago but it wouldnt even turn on. Play field and cab were very nice though, put another grand into it and now I wouldnt take $3500 for it. anything decent under 3k id say go for it.
Another guy I know got a nice one for $2200 last year and the dude that sold it to him is sorry he let it go. After I got mine all working it was a double ball bitch from hell, replaced all the optos and new opto board from rotten dog and problem went away.

I paid $2100 five years ago for a very clean one. I had to do a few things to it through the years but now it is very reliable and is still one of my favorite machines. I love to lock a ball in the Borg ship and then the machine fires it back at you. What fun!

Just would like to know if it is a good pin and what it is worth

Awesome game. Best ever IMHO. Prices on it are climbing like they are on the other "A" titles now that Stern has gone off the deep end with their pricing. I wouldn't sell mine for $3,000 and I didn't pay anywhere near that.

It's a $3K machine working and without major issues, +/- a few hundred for condition.

The game is known to be high maintenance, it has a lot of switches and toys that can go wrong. When I first got mine, I had a well known tech go over it from top to bottom and sunk about $500 into it.. and since then it's been solid.

Some of the known issues are the GI's having problems (a lot of them burn up at the harness connect behind the back box, and you will most likely see a slightly melted Borg ship as most of them have them) and the cannons seem to problematic (I replaced my cannon wiring harnesses right from the start).

I agree, it's one of my favorite games and the flow is amazing on this game... when you hit one of the scoops, the ball is loaded at the ramp kick-out and it immediately puts another ball in play (no waiting for it to roll through a subway). The theme is unbeatable if you watched STTNG back in the day (I did) or played it back in the arcade in the 90's (I did).

Enough rambling, I love STTNG and could go on and on! :)

Its my favorite PIN, hands down. Great flow, voice acting and music. The center scoop thunk feels so good every time you nail it!

Compex as heck to fix.

I have SM, TZ, MM and A-13.

I think it's a great pin. It's close to being an all-time-great pin but it has a few issues: the outlanes are merciless and need to be modded to avoid frustration, the software could use some tweaking (making the caves in the video mode random and allowing some things to stack mode-wise). This is a very linear game that could have been made a lot deeper with just some minor modifications. It's a lot like BSD in that it teaches you to make very precise shots in order to do well. Batting the ball around is a recipe for disaster in STTNG. It's a great pin in a medium-sized or larger collection. I paid $2100 for my game which is HUO and heavily modded. The owner actually tried to back out of honoring the deal we made when I drove into his town to pick up the game, but luckily I pressed him to honor the deal. He had modded the crap out of the game with hallmark ornaments everywhere that I eventually removed to make the game closer to original.

I recently sold mine for $4K. Hadn't really considered selling it but for that amount, it left the house. Turned around and bought an HUO Iron Man with alot of add-on's. I'll have another one someday.

Seems like it has gone up in price over the past few years...but, what hasn't! When I started collecting it was a low 2k game.

It definitely deserves its "price success" - as it's a truly one of a kind and amazing game! Mine is Gates McFadden's personalized NIB machine (well, not NIB anymore...I opened it), and I think the only way I'd let it go is if someone wanted to trade for a Big Bang Bar....even then I'd be hesitant. :)

I would wager that if you are patient you can find a nice one for less than $2500. They made a bunch of these and the theme is not universal so not as many collectors looking for this one. Maintenance can be a bear as this beast is LOADED. It is also unforgiving and difficult unless you are a wizard.

Bottom line, even at 3K this is one of the best values in pinball.
