I have a problem where my Star Trek powers up and plays fine, but the sound effects shrink to a whisper after 10 to 15 mintes. The speech works well for hours, just no sound. I've got several sets of boards and tried all the universal sound boards but no change. So I am wondering about the sound amplifier.

Does the sound amplifier in the G80 power supply have seperate channels for the sound effects and speech? I've got several power supplies I could try, but anyone with a captains chair knows what a pain it is to change them out. So if this isn't a possibility, it would be good to know up front. Thanks.

It's been a wile but I do know if the speech is working then their is nothing wrong with the amp in your power supply. The output of the speech board is inputted into the universal sound board and mixed together so the output of the sound board should have both speech and sound going into the audio amp. So if you are loosing the sound only then your problem is the universal sound board but if you have tried other boards and they all have the same problem then you may have a problem with the ROMs or CPU board.
