Wasnt sure if I should stick this in with the other G80 threads or start a new one so I figured I'd start a new one.

Game was working fine for the past year or so. Plug it in this morning, leave it plugged in for about 5 hours and all seems OK. I go to lunch and come back and its locked up. :(

Power cycle it, no sound but I can hear speaker thump so I know the amp is working. Pull the USB and speech board power it back up and the game locks up about 10 seconds into the intro screen. Ugh.

Press the test button and I get RAM GOOD MULTIPLIER BAD. Hmm...

Did some googleing found that others had come across this and the problems were on the XY boards. I felt pretty confident that my problem was CPU since I now have no sound and the game locks up fairly quickly.

Good thing I socketed the bottom side of the CPU board last year when I was trying to find what ended up being a shorted trace. Tested the 244's, 245 then the two LS32's. One was bad. Replaced it and the game is back up!
