I have a Star trek vector game were the interconnect cable that connects the two XY boards had several broken pins. So I searched high and low and found a source of these connectors. So now I can make a new cable. But I will be able to make at least three more cables, if anyone else needs a new cable connector.

In the photo the one on the left is the new cable I made, and the on the right is the original sega cable.

I am not really interested in buying any cables but could you post the part numbers and distributor you bought the parts from for future reference?

I bought a lot from somebody off ebay. I am going to make two cables for myself, and I will have connectors left over. I don't have a part number, but they were listed as "24 pin DIP connectors".

I didn't even know it was called a DIP connector until halfway through the search. Then I found what mouser was selling, and they are completely wrong. I can't think why I didn't post asking about them. Maybe it was the thrill of the hunt.

I went to a local electronics supply shop, not only didn't they tell me what the connetors were called, but they didn't want to even try to see if they could order them.
