Hello, I have a Star Pool EM from Williams and when i got it it had no chimes, i managed to source some chimes but am having a hard time getting them to work!, the 10 point works after cleaning and adjusting the switch but the 100 point doesn't and has strange wiring colours where i plug it in, for instance the 10 point has an orange on one side and yellow on the other which schematically is correct but the 100 point has the correct orange red from the switch but has a black yellow coming off the other side? i jumped the yellow to the 100 point which in turn back fed the lights in the back box every time the 1000 point relay pulled in (really bright for a moment) which i didn't like the look of! as far as i can see the other side should be on Yellow?. as for the 1000 point chime there isn't any wiring there for that? just for the knocker! any ideas?

ok i sorted it, my chimes came with no cables and i didn't realise there was one common wire, someone could have chipped in to say this!

You are making some basic assumptions.
1. That one of us has the schematics to that game. These are essential to be able to troubleshoot such games. I have a number of schematics, but not that one.
2. From your description, without posting a photo or a PDF of the schematics and the wire ID table from the schematic, it's hard for anyone to offer help that is other than general.
3. Most of us do this for fun, and have full time jobs. I'm currently working in Romania for example, and just saw this before I called it a night. So posting something and expecting someone to jump on it is a little unrealistic.

Nice job in figuring it out.

The chimes "usually" work by the closing and opening of a switch on either the actual 10,100,1000 etc. score reels and/or the corresponding 10,100,1000 etc relays.
You can start a game and probe those switches with a mini flat screwdriver.
