Star Fox 2 Playable SNES cart project success. Playing on snes hardware now!

I have been putting this project off for some time.
The game was finished however never released.
See the write-up here->

Finally took the day to have at it and it was a success.
The game is beautiful! NTSC USA!

Excuse my de-cased snes. It's just floating their on a book.
It's a parts snes that I just fixed today.

For the fans who might want to get their hands on this Ill sell this cart for $50 shipped.
It took some time to put it all together.
All assembled in a clean manner... those wires are not going anywhere

Nice! Could use a cleaner label, but otherwise looks great! Too bad the game was pretty terrible, at least in my opinion. Otherwise, I might take you up on that offer. Would be great for someone who really loves that game or for a collector of unreleased games and prototypes. Good price, imo, too.

I think my cousin just ordered a star fox 2 from gamereproductions.com... they charge an arm and a leg though...

that's awesome though... if I had better soldering skills, I would love pulling stuff like that off...

Wow! I'd love to take on this project.

What was the donor cart, Stunt Race FX? Where did you get the EEPROM programmed?

Oh, and another question... I have a SNES that has slight static in the sound output, I was wondering if there's any way to fix this?

Are you still continuing this offer? I would like to purchase this game from you as soon as possible.

yes. going to do a run of x10 with very nice labels :)
and it will be using a small surface mount chip with less than half of the jumps vs the ugly drip eprom.. very clean.

I might be up for one with a good looking label :) Will the price point still be around $50 shipped?

I never much cared for SF2, but it might be nice to have it on an actual cart. Good conversation piece if nothing else.

Very cool that you were able to do that Chad! :)

$50 is more than a fair price IMO.

Not to take away from your talents, but I've used www.gamereproductions.com before and they do top-notch work. They use original cartridges to house your game of choice and the labels are high-quality.

It's where I got my Goonies 1 (Goonies 1 Famicom reproduced in a US NES cart) with the custom black box arcade series label.

They also have Star Fox 2 but it's way too pricey for my taste. But given that it's never been released, I can understand.

Count me in for one! Just send me a PM if you want to be sure to get me. I'm good for it and excited to play it.

I made one of these for myself last year sometime. It's actually a pretty good game. I don't know why they never released it. Chad, what did you use as a donor - Stunt Race FX? That's what I used, and I haven't had any noticeable slowdowns playing the game, it all seemed fine to me. Supposedly the game was written to use the FX2 chip, which was never released, but was just a faster version of the FX.

And yes, I know, pics or it didn't happen:

I built mine with a DIP EPROM just like you did - it's a lot of work and lots of tiny soldering. Definitely a good idea to go with a surface mount part that actually fits on the board if you're doing more than one :)
