Star Castle vs Star Castle (Which one should I Keep)

I have two Star Castles and I'm thinking about selling one (even though I should keep both, due to how sensitive they are). One is a Cinematronics and the other is a Rock-ola. Both work great. Here are some pics. Which one would you keep?

Well I gotta say the cinamatronics one looks like nicer (Of course this is the one I want). I prefer all the buttons to be white.

I think the rockola one is a little rarer. I havent read of any real differences internally. But I dont have one so.. take that with a grain of salt.

Has either monitor been capped? Either PCB been worked on? That could indicate which one might be less trouble in the future.

Is either monitor dimmer than the other? Some Star Castles have a factory tube defect that causes the vector image to get weaker and weaker. There was once a source of replacement tubes, but now you would have to steal them from a junker black and white vector monitor. That's not easy to find either.

Rejuvination works quite well on the tubes. Ask me how I know.

Actually, you can use a regular tube from a donor TV as long as the pins are right and you swap the yoke.

I'd keep the Rock Ola because it is much less common and looks nice. If you have space, keep them both.

Personally... I'd keep the one with the nicer side art and better overall condition.

Keep in mind, you'll likely get better money for the Rock-Ola...

So if you keep the Cinematronics you get the same game, better looking/condition cab, and more dough in your pocket. Win-win.

EDIT: BTW - Both of those machines are in great shape overall...

How DARE you consider which one to get rid of...!!!

take the marquee out of the rock-ola and put it in the cinematronics and keep that one..

If someone would give you more money for the rock-ola, I would sell that. I would keep the nicer cab.

are they not diferent inside from each other,or do they both have the same power supply setup/i have star castle, rockola version, they actualy have longer from sides with no bend in them and the cpo should be different, mine didnt survive like the one you have so it got cinematronics overlay.there might be certain revisions of the power supply.
:)

Thanks for the input. Both games have nice bright monitors. Both machines have there plus & minus ad far as cab condition, but overall in good condition for a Star Castle with no water damage. I haven't fixed up the Rock-ola one yet so the appearance will diffently change a bit when I'm done. I'm leaning more toward the Rock-ola one now. The only issue is the side art. That's one of the main reason I couldn't make up my mind. Other stuff can be switched around if I chose, but can't switch around side art. Not sure if its doing to much to keep both. This is one of my favorite games and I don't sh.. about this machine it it ever breaks down.

What he said...the only difference between the two is the copyright on the Rock-ola marquee so take the rare marquee and put it on nice Cinematronics version and be done with it.

I would not do that. The cabs themselves are different slightly and a Rock-Ola marquee on a Cinematronics cab = Not authentic = undesirable IMHO.

Look at the front of the cabs... the only difference is that the Rock ola goes straight down and the Cinematronics has the bend inward.

There's also a metal sticker/badge on the backside that says Rock-Ola...

I just asked Rich about the star castle side art.. and he felt by the end of the year it should be avaliable. I would think that would work for both, no?
