Hi all --

Star Castle has been my favorite game since I was 12 (which is when it came out :). Having a mint machine in my cave is a dream come true... behold my dream!

I spent the past 2 years working on my Star Castle, just a little at a time. I didn't take any pictures during the process, something i regret now of course (I guess didn't want to take pictures of the sausage making process, especially if the sausage didn't come out too good!).

Anyway, I spent way too much money and time on this, but I like the results. Along the way, I bought a second cab with better side art, rebuilt P/S, repaired monitor, new CRT, CPO, complete restore of coin door, etc. You get the picture.

Basically, I started by buying the "idea" of a Star Castle for $125 and slowly built one from scratch :). Consider me educated.

I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks for looking!

Excellent restoration! Yeah, I think a lot of restos start with a pile of parts. You did a great job with the cab.

The most common question I get with mine is...will you sell it? Be prepared for that :) Nice Star Castle, I did a similar restoration to my Armor Attack, check out my VAPS for a little reading. I never snap before pictures of my games...too depressing.

thanks for the kind words :)

As for the side art, I had planned on purchasing some from Richard when it was available, but I think that project is stuck ... On the bright side, he did a great job on the CPO reproduction and the cinematronics coin door sticker is pure awesome (thanks Richard).

Unfortunately, not having repro sideart (and the crappy state of my original ) meant that I had to find a cab out there with good sideart. I found it on ebay -- I was looking at an auction for a Rip Off machine, and noticed there was a good looking (albeit dirty) star castle cab in the back of his garage. I bought both :)

I know what you mean about selling -- until the repro sideart becomes available, Star Castles in this condition will be very rare and desireable. I'm hanging on to mine for a while.

Beautiful, just gorgeous. After recently getting my Armor Attack back up and running, this is one of the next projects I'd love to come across. Nice work man!

Thank you. Armor Attack is a fantastic looking game (in the same cab, I believe). You have any pictures of yours?
