What is the standard lock size for all the locks on original Cantipede and Space Duel machines? Most importantly the coin door?
Thanks!

ok so if i have an old lock, how to i measure it to know what size lock i need? Sorry for the stupid questions...

From the rear of the head of the lock to the end of the barrel is the "length" of the lock. Common lengths in the vending/amusement game industries are 5/8", 7/8", and 1-1/8" long.

The most common today is 7/8".

I recently purchased standard 7/8 locks for my NBA Jam's coin and cash doors but they seem to be too wide in diameter to fit properly. Isn't the 5/8 lock the same in diameter but just smaller in length? Not sure what size to purchase.

yes, all the standard-sized locks (5/8, 7/8, 1 1/8) should all be the same diameter and the same shape, just different lengths to accommodate the varying depths of the door materials and cabinets.

it's possible your coin door has slightly undersized holes and the locks may need some persuasion to fit, or that your doors have been bent and the holes are no longer of the original size and shape.
