I didn't want to have to beg for help or get too personal on a forum where I don't really know "friends" in real life but here goes...

My collection of mostly non working games is fast becoming a real seat of tension with the wife. It's not that she hates the games exactly, but the fact that most have something keeping them from actually being useful as a game is kinda pissing her off and I must admit, I don't blame her. I just don't seem to have the skills and/or time to get the job done.

So here's what I'm asking. Does anyone local care to give a hand with some basic things to get these running. I am not looking for a handout here. I have a little money to offer but not much since I got laid off a couple of months ago from one of my "straight" jobs and my general contracting business has already started drying up for winter. I do have a lot of spare parts and some cabinets with decent monitors in them I could offer up. Maybe we could do a trade for work or partial trade/partial cash for work. Or maybe trade my mechanical and construction skills for your technical skills.

I am basically looking for help with some cap kits, help getting a b/w Motorola monitor going, and some board diagnosing and troubleshooting.

Here's what I've dug out so far to throw in the deal. This is stuff I have been wanting to get rid of anyway, due to no room to store, so I am TOTALLY willing to overpay in trade to someone.

A Sega/Gremlin cabinet someone converted to QBert. No boards or knocker, but the marquee is in great shape, everything else is in there including a Tatung monitor. Cabs in good shape. Looks like a Frogger cab but has a vent on the bottom front and looks like it was a white cab at one point.

An unknown board from Elcon Industries. After some research, it might be Cosmic Attackers but I don't know for sure.

Two more conversions in Defender-esque cabs. No boards but monitors both good. Will get monitor info tomorrow.

Space Invaders stuff. Moon and light assembly, control panel, mirrored glass, cardboard backdrop. All in really good shape.

Gun Fight cabinet in really good shape. No boards or monitor but has all the little things(brackets, wiring harness, front glass)

A few consoles if you're into those. Playstation 2 (just the unit), Gamecube (unit, 1 controller and a sonic game), Sega Genesis and stuff (8 or so games, controllers, all the wires to hook it up)

Possibly more as I go through my extra crap.

As I said, I am just looking to get help with a couple of cap kits, some troubleshooting on some b/w boards, and help in getting a Motorola b/w monitor up and running. I will buy all parts needed.

Are any of the monitors 25 inches? I'd be interested if so, and depending on how far away you are. I can definitely cap some monitors.

Sadly, no 25" monitors. The two I have to get rid of are a Tatung 510mvb22 and a Wells Gardner 19k4675. Both are 19", complete chassis, and are currently set up for vertical play.

Did you find anyone close to help with your B&W games? Where are you located in St. Louis?

I don't think I actually need that much help, per se. I am just horrible when it comes to diagnosing electronic problems beyond the obvious. Perhaps I just need to learn how to do more with my multitester. As for cap kits, I have read and studied as much as I possibly can on the subject. It seems like a fairly easy procedure. I'm just scared if I do it alone, I'm going to mess things up worse.

As for what I need help with specifically...

I have a WG in a Zaxxon that needs a cap kit. Monitor worked, then skitzed out. Plays blind now.
A 23" black and white monitor that needs the board re-hooked up and probably a cap kit.
Random diagnosing and troubleshooting on some old b/w boards. Sprint One, Le Mans, Gunfight, and Winner 4. In the Winner 4 board, I replaced a burnt chip. It got better but it still won't play or coin up.

I have just become frustrated with what has become a large collection of oversized paper weights. As stated earlier, I am fully willing to trade or pay what I can for someones' time and effort on this. If someone local or sorta local would want to, I could even come to them.
