SPYHUNTER COCKPIT

Two years in the making. (nothing clever to say here - just look at the pictures!)

Cabinet and Hardware:

Built brand new black melamine cabinet. (Custom built to eliminate extra carriage bolts where the front and back connect.)

Stripped and powder coated CP, bolts, brackets, speaker meshes, coin bucket, coin doors
New T-molding
New Locks
New Wheels

Cosmetics:

Reproduction Side Art (Special thanks to Rich at www.thisoldgame.com ) He very patiently went back and forth making modifications and adjustments until the art was perfect.

Reproduction floor decal - TOG

NOS control panel overlay (as Rich discovered, this reacts to black lights so i'm modding out the back of my controller yoke to shine black light LEDs on the artwork - coming soon)

NOS seat - Thanks ZFCamaro!
Took extra precautions with this. I filled the back with liquid plastic (that's not the scientific name but you get the idea) Its solid now, used to weigh about 1 LB now it weighs about 30.

Glass: front, back marquees, monitor bezel and back glass all original (found on Ebay)

Controller: plastics polished and oiled, handles powder coated bk-1 texture, steering column powder coated red. LED behind Weapons van button.

Shifter: buffed and polished to high shine, rebuilt for smooth operation

Gas pedal: powder coated bk-1 texture

All metal brackets: powder coated bk-1 texture - instead of the smooth satin, looks cooler and is more durable to touch.

Bally/Midway coin door badge from: www.arcadeshop.com

Spyhunter flyer key chain: oldtymetoys on klov

Electronics:

Very hard to get working right, went through a bunch of boards to get it going, squawk and talk board was a real pain.

Cleanup/restored inside guts: power supply, wire harness, PCB, etc.
New Vision Pro 19" monitor (not fun to find a monitor to sync properly with this game)
New Speakers
Restored power supply
Cleaned boards and wire harness
New Power Cord
New Marquee Light Fixture/Bulb

Job Well Done.....

Im trying to think, What did it cost to play a cockpit Version back in the day, was it still 25 Cents then....?

Ahh, I see it 2x25.

Again, Great work Dan.

seen it in person. This thing looks nicer than new. The best looking SH cockpit out there, bar none.

Good lawrd, that is too nice to even play, true museum work!! Impressive sir.

Hi! I never even wanted this game until now. This is probably your finest work yet. Seriously. Every time I see one of these machines they are beat, discolored, worn, etc. Stunned.

Oh, man you have me drooling. I gotta make time to do mine! I'll have to consider doing casters and eliminating the bolts too. How do you have the 2 halves connected?

Wow, thanks Phet i really appreciate the compliment. This one has a lot of sentimental value to me so i wanted to do it right.

:)

There are also no bolts on the floor plate, its velcro-ed down for easy access.

I'll see if i can dig up some pix on the build.

Beautiful! Amazing work you are doing on your collection. Century arcade here in Greeley, CO had a Spy Hunter Cockpit and I spent tons of lawn mowing money on that game. And they did have it priced at .50 cents. This is the way I enjoyed playing Spy Hunter. The Upright(with or without a stool) and Midway Treasures' version with a controller just do not measure up.

Absolutely Fantastic result. Like new, as usual

I have done 1 from scratch. So I know how much effort you put in (Well, you go even further than I did)

Fantastic! Amazing, Awesome. Well done (as usual)
