I cannot seem to keep the weapon lights working on my Spy Hunter. I've replaced the resistor at R19 and the cap at C8 on the lamp driver board. Once I did that, the lights started working. After about a day or two they are off again. I appreciate any help, this is driving me nuts. I have two boards but no luck with either. Could the problem be somewhere other than the lamp driver board?

Also, I apologize, I shouldn't have started a new thread but I forgot about the original one (https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/spy-hunter-weapon-lights-not-working.549713/)

Thanks!

They are working again and all I did was disconnect the two connectors and inspect for loose wiring. Seems like that points to possibly a loose wire on one on the connectors to J1 or J2.

I turned it on/off a few times and once again...back to no lights. I'm not good at reading the diagrams...could it be a problem with the cpu board? It's just the lights though, all the controls work fine.

I've ordered new connectors from APAR but I'm really just guessing on the size. @KaBoom1701 any idea what size the connectors are at J1 and J2 on the lamp driver board?

@cdjump topic here is a good reference.

"molex kk100 or kk156 headers with crimp pins"

J1 is 14 pin KK100
J2 is 11 pin KK156

Hopefully those connectors are causing my issues and I will be able to get this fixed finally: Those original connectors look pretty crappy anyway.

Maybe it's me, but I'm looking at the connector and it seems that you might have cracked solder joints on the last 4 pins. Looks like definitely pins 10 & 11. Can you get a closer pic of the pins of J2?

Yes, you are right @Jaydon - that's not my board. I'm waiting for the new connectors to arrive and I sure hope that's the fix. I know they are just lights, but I really enjoy the game more when they work properly. I sprayed some deoxide and they came on again but only for a day or so.
