Hi,
I have been searching around and cannot get a definitive weight of the upright model other then, "$@%!'N heavy!"

Lot's of estimates: "Over 350lbs..."

But no exact number.....

Would anyone happen to know the exact weight of this monster?

Thanks in advance

Jeff

Good luck if it weighs anything close to my SW Trilogy cab.... that thing almost killed me. lol

The last time I moved mine, I took out monitor, board stack, CP, bezel, marquee - and still needed a friend to help move it. It ain't no Nintendo cab.

that is highly unusual. there's like 1000's owners of this game too and
nobody has ever bothered to weigh this game???

estimates start from 350 lbs and go up to 500 lbs ( see: https://www.uship.com/shipment/1983-Original-Bally-Spy-Hunter-Arcade-Ga/244828648/ )

and its weird that even the owners manual and official fliers for this game state all
the dimensions and never the weight! ugh... google search is useless for this data too!

Why collecting Nintendo cabs makes sense. [emoji136]

I tried to get mine weight at the truck stop and it broke their scales.

This cab is made of lead and they used lead paint on it too.

When I go to sell my game I decided I would sell it by the pound.

I would say 400 lbs or more. The cabinet is really a bear as it's not just the weight, but it's also the top heavy height...it's both heavy and unbalanced. I take out the monitor, bezel and control panel to move mine and the process goes from back breakingly difficult to doable.

It's in the Exidy crossbow category of games that are a nightmare to move but so fun to play that they are worth the trouble.

Probably why the bottoms of these go bad often. I think it's the most common issue
with Spy Hunter... the bottom boards giving out due to structural weight. Always got
to replace them with stronger woods and metals and super strength materials!

Amusing how the guy specifically indicates he doesn't want an estimate, but wants to know if anyone has weighed it...and then he gets a bunch of estimates. Just another thread where people feel they just have to write something...

Someone is a grumpy pants. Also I resent this, I was a powerlifter and pretty good with weight "assessments" SH is ~ 380-420.

I would say around 400. As others have stated. It is a beast to move. I bought a whole different dolly just to get it down the hill into my walkout basement, and even then I almost killed myself with help.

I'm about 90% sure GGDB used to list its weight as 380lb. I just went there to confirm and apparently that site is gone now. :(

Anyway, it doesn't matter how much it weighs, it's just that good. :)

No where in the manuals is the weight listed, spent quite some time Googling to no avail.
I guess I could use 440lbs as a good estimate?
I'd rather estimate over than under...
Thanks again
Jeff

I'd like to rectify that oversight.

Spy Hunter weighs 8,324,917 pounds.

There. Problem solved.

Real answer: just figure on 400. It's a heavy bastard and that's pretty close to the truth.
