Before I pulled my chassis for my Spy Hunter, the sound was fine. Now after I plug the chassis back in (touching nothing else) and turn it on, I get this really loud hummm out of the speakers, and can't figure how to get it to stop without just unplugging the sound. Please help me!!!

try reflowing all the solder on the amp board. Sounds like you might've bumped the heatsinks, and broke the amps loose. Has happened to me before.

Check all connections to see if any came loose anywhere. Look closely as I had issues in two spy hunters where the wiring looked fine until i starting tugging on the wires at the connectors and realized there were a couple of wires that looked to be connected but were not. If it's not this check to make sure your ground wires are all connected and if still no resolve check the amp board. I do have an issue in my tapper where I sometimes get a hum. Unplugging and reseating the connector usually helps but I also have a second amp board mounted in the cab for when that doesn't work.

Like some others said, check all the connectors, to see if you knocked something loose. It would also be a good idea to reflow the solder on the amp PCB, and the Cheap Squeak PCB.

Not sure if this pertains to you or not- but-
My Spy Hunter had a hum/ hiss that was a little loud, not too bad, but noticable when you were-not playing. The hum/ hiss would go away if I unplugged the Cheap Squeak PCB. So naturally I looked into that PCB, I replaced the Caps, and the pre-amps, but no dice. Turns out, I decided to swap the power supply from my Demolition Derby, and the hum/ hiss was gone. I put the power supply in my Demo Derby and it was fine. Spy Hunter didn't like it for some reason!

Mark,

I've heard others tell the same story. As the components on the linear power boards slowly go bad the hum will increase in the SH game. Folks have mentioned that when they did a Bob Roberts linear power board rebuild the hum almost completely disappears / was far less noticeable.
