I am almost done with a Spy Hunter restoration. I am just about ready to apply the new side art from Phoenix. I have never applied art this large before. Anyone have a suggestion of what type of tool to used in order to make sure there are no bubbles? I have a smaller plastic application tool for small artwork like CPOs. Just curious what you guys use for the larger art. Thanks

I typically line it up and use tape or light clamps to hold it in place. Then take off half the backing and work my way up or down depending on which way you are going.

The key is surface prep, it has to be totally smooth, you will see any minor imperfection through the artwork.

I like the dry method, some people like the wet method.

This is basically what I do.

I've done both dry and wet. There are pros and cons to each. With the dry method you don't have to worry about the edges swelling up do to poor prep work. But it's takes forever as you have to go slower than the wet method. Any air bubbles and you are screwed and you'll just have to pop them with a sharp razor and hope they smooth out. The wet method is what I did on my lastest SH cockpit. It took longer to prep as you have to make sure to seal any exposed particle board to prevent swelling. But the application of the side art goes much faster and you can squeeze out any air bubbles that appear very easy while the RapidTac is still wet. In both cases I recommend you install in the chilled room. It helps the art go on without air bubbles and make sure your cabinet is not warm or has been sitting in the sun prior to side art install.

Good luck.
